Oh, the treadmill. The poor guy gets a bad rap. He gets called “the dreadmil”l. No one really loves him. It’s a shame really. Dude just wants to give you a lower impact workout, help you simulate hills when you live in a flat area, and help control your speed when you’re looking for a steady pace or looking to push yourself. I know it’s tough to run and not actually go anywhere, but treadmill workouts really do come in handy, especially in the cold winter months and dead heat of summer.
To help turn our opinion of Mr. Treadmill around, I’ve put together a collection of fun workouts you can do on him! There are intervals, circuits, hills, and speed work and they’re all here to give a great workout that won’t leave you feeling like you just escaped a torture chamber. These are awesome Nicole! I love running outside and always prefer it if the weather is decent, but I also enjoy my treadmill too. I think it can be a great training tool to help you get faster! It’s been kind of rainy here, so I’ll have to pull out some of these workouts!

I’m a big fan of pyramid or ladder workouts on the treadmill. So long as I’m not running the same speed, I can stay entertained for long enough.

This is a great collection of workouts! I don’t have regular access to a treadmill but Im trying to convince my husband that it would be helpful to add one to our home gym…I doubt that will happen any time soon though!
