When your sweet tooth calls but you can’t bring yourself to stand over the stove or turn on the oven in the dead of summer, whip up one of these 25 no-bake treats! They’ll satisfy your craving and keep you nice and cool.
It’s going to be in the 90s in NYC this week. WOOF.
I’ve been really wanting to do some experimenting in the kitchen, but the heat and humidity do not get along with my stove and oven. Actually, that’s a lie. The heat, my stovetop and my oven get along all too well. So well, in fact, then when they are all on at the same time, they throw a crazy hot rager in my apartment. And without my permission. Can you believe the nerve?
As much as I like to get down and be the cool stove and oven owner, that is not a party I want to be at or host. Dehydration. Overheating. Slipping on sweat. There’s just too much liability.
Instead, the stove and the oven are in timeout, and I’m sticking with appliances that can behave in the summer – like my blender, a bowl and spoon, or the freezer. Ah, yes, Mr. Freezer is my favorite child this time of year.
And you know what? I’m not alone. A bunch of my blogger friends have been creating no-bake treats, as well, so I put together a little round up of simple yet delicious stove-and-oven-free recipes for you to enjoy all summer long. The best part? All of these recipes are peanut, wheat, soy, corn and dairy-free unless otherwise noted, so get those tastebuds ready for some serious amazingness.

Do you turn on the oven in the summer?
Do you have central air? If so… adopt me?
This post is linked up with Meatless Monday.

My husband has a fit when I turn on the oven in the summer! These look delish and I’ve pinned this post for later. Yum!

Woohoo! Thanks, Wendy!
These are perfect for summer time when I don’t want to turn on the oven and we seem to need extra snacks and treats on hand! And thanks for including my chocolate chip cookie balls and frozen blueberry pie! 🙂

I’m starting to get a little worried about the race this weekend. Supposed to be 104 heat index!
That does not sound fun at all! I hope it changes!
Oh this is a great round up Nicole! Thank you so much for including my little Lamington N’ice Cream Sandwiches! I love that you’ve even managed to categorise freezer treats! How goods that! Will definitely be referring back to this bundle!!
Those N’Ice Cream Sandwiches look so delicious! I can’t wait to try them!

Great roundup!
We do have central air and an electric oven – it’s pretty normal down here. Our house is only ten years old, though, so the heating and cooling is pretty efficient. I just can’t imagine getting through this summer without central air.

I’m sure you need it WAY more where you are than we do in NY. We have a good fan system going, but air would be nice on the 90-degree+ days.
I can’t even remember the last time I baked anything. But all these desserts are so pretty! Oooooh ahhhhhh…

I CANNOT WAIT to make your strawberry shortcakes- they were SO GOOD! <3

I don’t mind the oven (much) in the summer, but it’s on the main floor where the central air is strongest. My husband would rather fire up the grill…and I’m happy with that as well (he’s the chief grill master).

great round up! Pinning! Thanks for including my healthy cookie dough bites 🙂
Thanks, girl!
I ve been really into no bake treats lately. But in reality my oven is sometimes on during the hottest days of the year whether it s because I want to bake or need to. It s also on for cooking dinner pretty much everyday.
More power to you!
