A new month is upon us (can you believe it!). The beginning of a new month is always exciting. It’s a time to set new goals and try new things. You could do this at any time, of course, but the beginning of the month is always a good place to start – and makes it easy to track progress.
I’m trying a few new things this month when it comes to fitness. I made myself a workout plan to try to stick to like I did when training for my half marathon. I’m on my first week, so I’ll be posting progress and tips for you all as I go.
As a small side project, I thought it would be fun to take on small daily challenges. I found this challenge from Lindsay over at The Lean Green Bean (she’s also the blogger that started Foodie Pen Pals) and thought it seemed like fun. It combines fitness with healthy eating challenges as well as overall wellbeing.
Yesterday’s challenge was to eat extra veggies at lunch, so I loaded a spinach salad with broccoli, avocado, mushrooms, beets, and some fruits (tomatoes and apples). Today’s challenge was to hold a wall sit as long as possible. Look at me go!
On a side note, did you know that the + volume button on the side of the iPhone acts as a camera button?! I was talking to my co-worker about how Apple should put a camera button on the side of the iPhone, and she told me that. Now next time I need to take a picture of myself doing a wall sit (which is totally all the time) I can just click the volume button. Mind blown.
Anyway, I’ll be posting updates on my progress in that challenge along the way, too. Take the challenge yourself and let me (and Lindsay) know how you’re doing!
