Rock this baseball-inspired denim on denim active look with just a few simple, comfortable and affordable pieces.
Take me out to the ball game. Take me out to the crowwwwwd.
Oh, I love baseball season. I’ve been baseball fan for as long as I can remember (Let’s Go Met’s!), and as such, have a huge collection of baseball hats. It’s kind of a problem. I have Met’s hats, college hats, random city location hats, unbranded hats… Will yells at me that I never wear them, so to prove him wrong, I put together a whole baseball-inspired outfit around one of my favorite hats. I’ve also been into the denim-on-denim trend, so I threw that in the mix, too.
I think the key to making denim on denim work is finding denim in slightly different shades. That way you won’t look too 90’s JT and Britney. I went with dark denim jeans from Express (I like the distressed look to break up the solid color here, too) paired with a slightly lighter denim jacket I got years ago from American Eagle.
Keep your non-denim layers simple. I love the sporty vibe of this Go With Me Ivory & Blue Tank that Tobi so kindly sent me. The length helps to break up the denim, and the capped blue sleeves are reminiscent of baseball ts.
As for shoes, you can’t go wrong with classic Chucks. I say go with white, blue or gray like these.
You have to cap off you look (see what I did there?) with a hat. I had to rep the good old ‘Cuse. I love the light blue that ties this hat to the capped sleeves of the tank and the denim.
Last but not least, add a touch of pretty. This Don’t Hate Silver Stack Ring Set (also from Tobi) add the perfect amount of understated bling.
