Sweep your tastebuds off their feet with these insanely-easy-to-make and oh-so-delicious Chai Spiced Overnight Oats.
Oh the weather outside has been frightful indeed. Well, I know it has been for a good chunk of the United States. It’s times like these when we just want to snuggle up on the couch with a thick, knit blanket and a good show on Netflix. It’s also the perfect time of year for oatmeal!
I’m a huge fan of oatmeal, both sweet and savory. Overnight oats, in particular, are my jam of all jams.
With winter upon us, I’ve been craving oats with rich, wintery flavors. I was at a loss for exactly what I wanted, so I looked to my pantry for inspiration. A box of chia tea stared me in the face. The light bulb went off, and these Chai Spiced Overnight Oats were born.
My favorite thing about overnight oats is how simple they are. They’re more or less an ingredient dump that creates ultimate perfection. This wintery-spiced version is no exception.
I started with my oats, then dumped in my chia seeds, banana slices, almond milk and the chai tea concentrate I found in my pantry. I gave it a little shake-a-roo and the next morning MWAH. Delizioso.
I love the spicy/sweet amazingness that is chai spice. Nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, cardamom, black pepper. I meaaaaan… come on. That’s just brilliant. And when you bring that brilliance to the genius of overnight oats, you can’t go wrong.
I used TAZO’s chai tea concentrate to get in all that amazing flavor, but I think straight up chai tea with a little honey or almond milk blended with chai spices would do the trick, as well.
These oats are the perfect way to start the morning–slightly sweet and filling. You should all skip right to the recipe and make a big batch of these STAT.
You know what, I’ll save you time. No more words, just the recipe!
