This probably won’t come as a shock to most of you, but I have another Asian inspired recipe to share.
I love Chinese food, and I also love my crock pot (it makes everything so easy!). So how could I possibly turn away from Chinese food made in the crock pot? Enter Sesame Tofu!
It’s just like the ever-so-popular sesame chicken, sans all the bad oil and added sodium you get from a takeout restaurant.
It’s sweet. It’s savory. It’s sesame perfection. Not vegetarian? Feel free to sub out the tofu for chicken. Cooking directions will remain the same. I made a chicken version for my boyfriend and he said it was a winner. Vegan? You can try using agave instead of honey, but I can’t be certain of the results.
So next time you’re thinking about ordering in, give this recipe a spin (rhyming unintentional – but it makes a good slogan!). You’ll only have one pot to clean, there will be a ton of left overs, and you’ll be getting a healthier version of a beloved dish.
Have you ever made at-home take-out dishes? Maybe like this or this? Leave me a note. I’m always up for new Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Indian, (insert Asian country here) recipes.
