A few weeks ago, the lovely folks at Clif reached out and asked if I’d like to try a new energy bar flavor. Um… YES! I’m a huge fan of Clif products, especially their Builder’s Bars, so I was really excited to try another product from them. They gave me a choice of flavors to try, and I picked the Sierra Trail Mix.
This bar was the perfect afternoon snack after a nice run. It’s packed with peanuts, raisins, chocolate, sunflower seeds, and more delicious goodies. All those ingredients provide a pretty good amount of protein and fiber. Check out this nutrition label:
This is a great on-the go snack for anyone that needs a healthy energy boost. It would also be great to bring along on a hike, or to snack on while training for a race (I’ll have to keep that in mind when I start marathon training in a few weeks!). I might even try to recreate a similar bar in my own kitchen!
And did I mention it’s delicious?! The name is dead on; it really does taste like trail mix in a bar. It was so yummy, in fact, that I used the coupon they sent me to buy another flavor: Oatmeal Raisin Walnut. I haven’t tried it yet, but I can only assume it will be as tasty as this one.
