If you’re looking to lead a healthy life but don’t know where to start, don’t miss Ditch The Diet, a new ebook that breaks down the essential components of healthy living.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a review, but all opinions are 100% my own.
One of the things I love most about blogging is all of the other amazingly inspiring bloggers I get to meet. Megan, from Skinny Fitalicious, is no exception. I’ve been following her blog for the last two years, and it has become one of my must-reads. Her healthy-living tips are always excellent, and her recipes (almost all gluten free) are 100% healthy and totally drool worthy.
I first met Megan in real life at the Blend Retreat where I learned more about her weight loss story. Home girl lost 80 pounds and has kept it off for 6 years! How, you ask? Well that’s exactly what her new ebook, Ditch the Diet, sheds light on.
The book touches on her personal battle with weight and unhappiness and how she overcame that and started leading a healthier, happier life.
What I love about Ditch the Diet is how Megan breaks it all down into simple, easy-to-follow steps, which include tips on goal setting, mastering your mindset, healthy eating and fitness. She does not prescribe a diet because “diet” is a four-letter word (my words, not hers). Rather, it’s about how to set yourself up for success. One of my favorite snippets from the book is:
Weight loss is the outcome of healthy living and healthy living is about making a lifestyle overhaul. It means ditching old habits, finding nutritious foods you love, staying active, accepting yourself and fostering a positive self-image. Those last two are key to making the changes you want for yourself. Because if you change the way you feel about yourself on the inside, the changes on the outside will follow and when you believe in something, it happens. So believe in yourself!
Ditch the Diet has it all covered: from healthy eating (links to some of Megan’s favorite recipes are included) to fitness to what to do when you plateau or “fall of the wagon.” She even has a section called, “Boss Your Sweet Tooth.” I need that one for sure!
Another thing I love about this book is the tone of voice. As I was reading, I felt like Megan was right there just chatting with me. She doesn’t try to get all technical. Rather, everything is very friendly and conversational. It makes living a healthy life seem easy-peasy, and in all honesty, if you follow Megan’s tips, it will be!
Whether you plan on reading this book or not (though you really should!), here’s a snippet we should all take to heart:
Love yourself enough to allow yourself the time to change and stop comparing yourself to others. A healthy life doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a cumulation of small changes over a long period of time.
