So I know it’s not even October yet, but every year, I tell myself I’m going to make a really awesome costume for Halloween – and every year the time flies by and it’s Halloween and I’m stuck trying to throw something together minutes before the party (which I host!) begins! This year, I’m determined NOT to leave it to the last minute. I’ve even invited a few girlfriends over for a Halloween Costume Making Party as a prelude to the actual Halloween Party Will and I host every year. Yep. A party before the party. That’s how I roll.
Anyway, since it’s Fit & Fashionable Friday, I thought I’d use this fine post to ask you to help me pick my costume! I’ve narrowed it down to three, but I’m open to suggestions. Here are the options:
1. Paperdoll
This one seems fun yet totally doable. I’ve also never seen anyone dressed up as a paperdoll before so points for originality!
2. Operation
This is another super fun one that would take some time to make but would be a big hit!
3. Mermaid
I mean… so pretty! This one would be tricky since I don’t know how to sew, but I’ve made a whole dress from scratch before (thank you fabric glue and velcro). I think I could take on the challenge!
Ok, it’s poll time! Please cast you vote in the comments below or leave me a new suggestion! I’m open to any and all ideas.

Paperdoll, Operation, Mermaid or a new idea?! GO!

Yes to the paper doll that is awesome!! I need to dress up fun for halloween again sometime. Last year I went as a tired mom LOL!
haha this year is your year! Make it easy and be an 80s fitness star. You can do a little workout every time you open the door for trick’or’treaters ha!
Ha ha I think with your hair you have to go mermaid!! Love it. Thanks for the link up

ooo yes! Like Ariel š
If you could pull off that mermaid, that would be awesome. The other two are pretty funny too and look easier though!

Truth. I’m so torn!
Any would be awesome! I vote for Operation since it looks like the easiest to move around it – you’ve got to be able to enjoy the party right!

That is a great point. Being able to move is a good thing haha
Paper doll or mermaid would be fun! :]

My sister wore them when she was Ariel for the Disney Princess Half. The paperdoll is really cute and clever!
Oh my gosh! Those are amazing!! I want to be Ariel for one of the Dopey Challenge races. Totally getting these! thank you!
i vote for paper doll!

Yey! Thanks for voting! I’m so torn, so I really want the votes to help me decide!
All of these ideas are super cute! I love DIY costumes. I have to come up with one this year as well since it is the FIRST time I will ever be trick or treating with my younger sister who is 11 [we’ve lived too far away from eachother until now!]. Anyway I was thinking of doing something simple like robbers [striped black and white t-shirts, masks, money bags] or something more in detail like peacocks with really pretty handmade masks and tulle skirts!

oooo both sound fun!! Robbers would be easier but peacocks would be so cool!
Love the paper doll costume! I Haven’t had a reason to dress up for Halloween recently, but my friend had a Disney themed murder mystery party last year and I got the role of Cinderella!
A Disney themed murder mystery party?! That sounds AMAZING! Who did it?
Fun ideas! I think I’d go with paper doll. It looks like the least PIA to make. Can you tell how lazy I am?

haha I’m all for ease!
As a redhead myself, the mermaid is an obvious choice….but I so could see you rocking the Operation! It’s so unique too! I’ve got to come up with one for Disney Marathon that I can actually run in!

I have a few ideas for Disney, and Ariel is one of them – so maybe I’ll save being her for Disney!
I vote Mermaid for two reasons. 1) you’d look awesome and I know you can pull it off. 2) My brother would have to dress as a merman or mermaid and I need pictures of that.
haha! YES! Orrrr he can be the crab… fits his personality ;-P
The paper doll idea is too cute and so original! I could see you even doing a rag doll / raggedy Anne with like red red cheeks and your pretty, curly red hair!

ooo that’s a great idea!
I always go for the pretty costumes, so I vote for the mermaid. That paper doll is pretty cute and original though.

It looks like that one is the most popular. May have to do that!
Mermaid! So pretty…I bet it won’t be that hard to make, you’ll just have to find the shells!

Yes! Shells and a glue gun. The skirt would be tricky but I bet I could figure it out.
I like the paper doll a lot! Last year my husband went as Thor, I was Wonder Woman and our daughter was Cat Woman.
