This week kicked off the Move Nourish Believe Challenge sponsored by Lorna Jane Active and Sweat Pink, a 3-week long challenge aimed at helping all of us stick to our healthy living goals. I’ve been having a blast so far completing the daily challenges, posting the pics, and seeing everyone else kick butt this February!
So, what does the challenge entail? Check it out:
Week 1 was all about movement and it was also the first week of my half marathon training, so I was in full moving gear!
Day1: Sweat-it-out – I’m using yoga as my cross-training workouts. It’s such a nice compliment to running since I get to stretch out and build muscle through body weight movements. Move and om, people, move and om.
Day 2: Change it up – Since joining a gym, I’m trying all kinds of new treadmill workouts. For Day 2, I did a three mile run paired with a killer ab workout. This was me after. Bring on the shower!
Day 3: Let’s get planking – “Abs on fire” is what this challenge should be called! After a 2 minute plank, two 1 minute side planks, and a final 1 minute regular plank, you could have lit coals on my abs. Ouch!
Day 4: Buddy up! – My workout buddy comes in the form of my boyfriend. We motivate each other to stay fit. While he doesn’t wake up and workout in the morning with me (he works out after work), he does make sure I get my butt out of bed when my alarm goes off. Sometimes I can’t tell if he is trying to motivate me or if he just wants to take over my ridiculously comfortable pillow, but nevertheless, he’s my workout buddy.
Day 5: Fave Friday! Today’s challenge is to share our five fitness favorites. I’m loving:
- Interval workouts on the treadmill. (Like these!)
- Runner’s World keeps me entertained (and educated) on my commute.
- Ashtanga Yoga. I just discovered this form of yoga, and I’m loving it!
- My alarm. As much as I hate it, this guy keeps me on track.
- These running shoes! My birthday is around the corner (hint hint).

How did you move this week?

Great wrapup post! Interval workouts definitely help with keeping the treadmill more interesting!! I’ve been doing a lot of treadmill in the last two weeks because it’s been crazy cold so I can’t run outside.

Thanks! And yes. I can deal with the cold. But there’s no getting around the sheets of ice!
Great week, super cute writeup and I love your calendar graphic for the challenges!

I used to, but when it’s a choice between running and not running the treadmill isn’t so bad.
