I have a few exciting opportunities to share with you all today!
First of all, who watches The Biggest Loser? I LOVE that show. Season after season, it never gets old. I am so inspired by these people who have decided not only to take control of their health but have also decided to document that journey in front of a national audience! It’s kind of like being a blogger. Except they get to workout with the most amazing trainers. And win a lot of money. And get famous. Well, I guess some bloggers get all that stuff, too!
As I watch the Biggest Loser each week, I always dream about what it would be like to workout with Jillian or Bob or Dolvett (le sigh) – so you can imagine my excitement when Girls Gone Sporty told me I could meet and workout with Michelle Bridges, one of the trainers on The Biggest Loser Australia! I’m not as familiar with her as the American trainers, but I can only imagine she’s pretty bad ass!
Want to know the best part? I can invite whoever I’d like to join me in a workout with Michelle! Katie from Hungry Runner has already agreed to be my workout buddy, and we want to know who else wants to join in for a sweat sesh?! The event is this Saturday, November 23rd in NYC. If you live in NYC (or are planning on being in NYC this Saturday) let’s get sweaty! Just shoot me an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) letting me know you want to come. We can meet up, workout, and go for a recovery smoothie (or lunch) afterwards.
After the workout, we’re into Thanksgiving week! Can you believe it? It can be a little challenging staying healthy during the holiday season, and that’s exactly why Lindsey from The Lean Green Bean and Elle from Nutrionella put together the Elf for Health Challenge. These two amazing blogging ladies put this whole thing together last year (check out my challenge recap), and it was a huge hit. I’m pumped that it’s back again!
Here are a few details:
Introducing the Elf for Health Holiday Challenge! This is a four week challenge that will run from the Monday November 25th thru December 22, 2013. The challenges fall into 4 different categories: Food, Fitness, For You & For Others. There will be daily tasks, daily winners, prizes, weekly newsletters, and a Facebook group for support. (This is 2 weeks shorter than the challenge was last year, but we feel like 4 weeks is the perfect amount of time for people to stay motivated and engaged in the challenge!)
And are you ready for the best part? You’ll have an elf to support and encourage you! When you sign up, you will also be committing to be an elf for someone in return. Over the course of the challenge, you will have two different elves.
Sounds like a great way to stay motivated and meet new people over the holidays doesn’t it?! Since this challenge is internet based, anyone can participate… no matter where you’re located! All you need is access to the internet and an email address.
