Get your tastebuds in the holiday spirit with these easy-to-make, vegan, soy-free, and gluten-free Gingerbread Protein Bites!

It’s officially the holiday season! I really can’t believe it. This year has just flown by. It’s time to take down all the fall decor and pull out the menorahs and the Santas! It’s also time to start whipping up all the holiday recipes. While pumpkin is, hands down, my favorite fall flavor, gingerbread takes the cake for best holiday treat. Last year, I whipped up this delicious vegan Gingerbread Hot Chocolate, and this year, I’m coming at ya with Gingerbread Protein Bites!
There are a number of ways to create energy bites, but I love adding a big ol’ scoop of protein powder to mine, and recently, I got to try a bunch of different protein powders from PlantFusion.
I’ve tried PlantFusion Complete in the past (I’m a big fan of mixing their Cookies N’ Creme flavor into my morning oatmeal – makes it taste like cookie dough!), but I haven’t tried their other two offerings: Phood and Organic Plant Protein.
What I love about this whole company is that their products are 100% plant proteins made with raw ingredients and no GMOs. They are also all vegan, soy-free and gluten-free! So what’s the different between PlantFusion Complete, Phood and Organic Plant Protein? They’re all great, but each offers something slightly different.
PlantFusion Complete was designed to be a simple, delicious tool to help you achieve your health and fitness goals. The protein in PlantFusion is perfect for muscle energy, managing appetite, and overall recovery from exercise and daily stress. It’s also the only plant-based protein shake that compares to whey because it’s enhanced with 4500mg of branched chain amino acids and 3,350mg of glutamine. One scoop is 120 calories and has a whopping 21 grams of protein. It also comes in five flavors: vanilla bean, chocolate, chocolate raspberry, cookies n’ creme and natural. Price: $29.99 for 1 lb tub.
Organic Plant Protein includes a healthy dose of fermented foods to supercharge your digestion with a full spectrum of natural food-based probiotics and enzymes for better overall nutrient digestion and absorption. One scoop is 120 calories and has 20 grams of protein. It’s also sugar free and comes in two flavors: vanilla chai and chocolate. Price: $41.60 for 1 lb tub.
Phood is everything needed for complete nutritional support and recovery in one simple, easy, delicious shake. It’s basically a complete meal in protein powder form. It pairs amaranth, quinoa and chia with Baobab fruit for a low glycemic, antioxidant rich carb combo, has easily digestible protein, blends flax, alagin and sunflower for a blend rich is Omega 3’s, is filled with natural vitamins and minerals and has cruciferous greens for an even bigger healthy punch. Two scoops deliver 200 calories and 18 grams of protein along with 17 grams of carbs, 6 grams of fiber and 7 grams of fat. It comes in two flavors: vanilla and chocolate caramel. Price: $37.35 for 1 lb tub.
Before you buy a tub, PlantFusion offers these great sample packs that let you try multiple flavors of their products before you buy a whole tub. You can get 3 flavors of PlantFusion Complete, 2 flavors of Organic Plant Protein or 2 flavors of Phood for just $10. Plus, when you get a sample pack, you get a $5 coupon to use on a full-sized tub! These sample packs would also make an awesome stocking stuffer… just sayin’!
I love all three of PlantFusions products for different reasons, but when it comes to making these Gingerbread Protein Bites, I used the classic PlantFusion Complete Vanilla Bean. Just toss it into a food processor or blender with the rest of the ingredients, and you’ll have some healthy holiday delight in minutes!

- 1/2 cup unsalted cashews
- 1 cup unsalted walnuts
- 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I used PlantFusion Complete Vanilla Bean)
- 10 pitted dates
- 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 Tbsp molasses
- Place all ingredients in a food processor and process until the ingredients begin to stick together.
- Gently roll into bite-sized balls (makes about 15-20 balls).
- Refrigerate and eat as you wish!

I am getting more and more into raw plant protein powder. It helps to nourish you and you stay fuller longer because your body is feeding off of real nutrients vs. fillers. This looks good especially PHOOD. No giveaway? LOL

I can’t have any of that stuff right now and I’m following a strict vegan baking diet due to my sons allergies. These may be just the perfect treat for us – minus the nuts.
