Between Thanksgiving and the New Year, I participated in the Elf for Health Holiday Challenge. The challenge ended up being so successful (it had over 900 participants!) that the founders of the challenge, Elle and Lindsey, decided to keep it going all year long!
Introducing the Healthy sELF Challenge, a year-round challenge aimed at helping participants maintain a healthy lifestyle every day. In the Elf for Health Challenge, participants were paired together every two weeks (becoming each others’ elves). We would email tips and encouraging words on how to complete the daily challenges.
Healthy sELF works a little differently. For one, participants won’t be paired up. Instead, there is a great Facebook community where everyone can post questions, tips, or show off their healthy accomplishments. Elle and Lindsey have also scaled down the number of challenges from 6 per week to just 3 (two weekday challenges and one on the weekend). Challenges are a combination of fitness, food, and general well-being tasks to complete. Some will be more difficult than others, but the whole point is to try new things every now and then that ladder up to a healthy lifestyle. You never know what you might end up loving and sticking to!
