Wow, 2014, where did you come from? Does anyone else feel like 2013 whizzed by? Either way, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Looking back at the year, I did pretty well with my resolutions. Though I didn’t learn how to knit, I did give it the old college try. I just couldn’t get into it. I’d rather spend my time blogging with you all :). I stuck to Resolution #2 perfectly. I’ve been training my butt off (where did that expression come from?), and can hardly believe the marathon is only a week and half away!! As for Resolution #3, I definitely made some headway with more positive thinking. So – what resolutions am I making for 2014? Read on.
Resolution #1: Continue to think positively. I’m carrying this one over into 2014 because a) I still have some work to do and b) I think this is a resolution everyone should have. Our lives are surrounded by negativity (one reason I don’t watch the news), so we need to bring in some positive energy. I’ve started doing a little meditation following the advice of this book and am trying to live a little more in the moment, understand my thoughts, de-stress, and lead an overall happier and more positive life.
Resolution #2: Run 2,014 kilometers. As I mentioned briefly here, Run This Year is issuing a challenge to run the year in miles, kilometers, or create your own goal. I decided to tackle the year in kilometers. It’s roughly 3.5 miles a day. Are you ready, running shoes?
Resolution #3: Decorate! Growing up, my mom ALWAYS decorated for the holidays. Ever holiday. Seriously. We had hearts and cupids, leprechauns (we’re not even Irish), decorations for Passover, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah… You name it, we decorated for it. I’ve been living on my own for quite a few years now, and I decided that this year is going to be the year I bring that tradition to my own place. Watch out holidays, New Year-Valen-Patty-Eastover-Thanks-Chrismakkah decor is comin’ atcha!
What are your plans for 2014?
