To say I’m a huge fan of nut butters would be an understatement. I could pretty much live at Peanut Butter & Co. I’ve toyed around with the idea of making my own nut butters for a while now. At first, I didn’t have the right tools. But now, I have these two bad boys that can whip up a good nut butter in minutes.
Then, it was always that nuts were pretty expensive and it would just be cheaper to buy pre-made nut butters. But then I won the Blue Diamond Almond healthysELF challenge and received tons and tons of almonds.
I no longer had an excuse. I had the tools. I had the nuts. Almond butter here I come! Behold:
To almond meal…
To almond butter!
The best part? I know all the ingredients. It’s just almonds. All natural. All delicious. And so easy to make! 2 cups of raw, whole almonds makes about 1 cup of almond butter. I just let them process in my Cuisinart for 5 minutes or so. Easy peezy. I can’t wait to add some to smoothies or mixed in with some granola!
Have you ever made your own nut butter? What’s your favorite kind?
