I started giving myself monthly goals in 2016, and instead of coming up with big resolutions for the new year, I thought I’d stick with my monthly goals. They seem to work well for me, and I think the smaller goals lead to bigger change. First, let’s look back at last month.

Let’s Chat:
What are you goals for January or for the whole year?

Enjoy those long runs for me!!

Honestly I have to tell you, it really took me a good 2 months after I moved to feel like my old self again. It’ takes a lot out of you!

I have yet to blog about my goals but other than a few fitness/running goals…my main goal will be to BE PRESENT. This past year I realized how much I was on my phone or on the computer and I need to step away. I am going to have cut-off times at night when I can no longer check my phone and only check Instagram/Facebook twice a day (morning/afternoon).
Looking forward to see how well you do with your goals!
All great goals! I may have to steal some 😛 And I love the idea of writing them down here and then grading yourself on them the following month — I think I may make that a new blog habit of mine as well!
P.S. Post more pictures of Moose <3 <3
P.P.S. NYC misses you! But so glad you're loving Austin!

Your December goals are definitely a lesson. Sometimes we really need to consider what else is going on in our life and what goals are realistic. I know I’m guilty for doing that too.

i’m really bad at giving myself down time and consequently i have a really hard time unwinding at the end of the night – that’s definitely my focus – maybe some meditation before bed!

It takes a while to get into a routine with a new puppy (or new senior dog!), but it will happen. Dogs are such creatures of habit.
Better take advantage of the nice weather now — just wait til summer, when it’s hard to run or even walk outside (the heat, humidity & mosquitoes — I lived there for 17 years).

I’m always amazed at how difficult it can be to fit in those 10k steps. Some days it’s super easy and some days I just feel like a sloth.

Ahh I’m terrible at phonewalking!! That’s a great goal… I need to add it to my January. 🙂
The holidays really threw me for a loop too. Looking forward to our visit and getting back on track in a big way! See you soooon.

You have some great goals set for the year and I’m sure you’ll do great with them! Healthy eating and meal prep/planning is always an area that I need to focus on and I’m hopeful that I’ll finally get it together in 2017, the sooner the better! It must be so fun having a puppy around the house 🙂

I TOTALLY MISSED THAT YOU GOT A PUPPY!!! HOLY CRAP IS HE ADORABLE!!!!
My puppy is not so trained at home but let me tell you, she is becoming an amazing running buddy. I’m more and more amazed with her every time we go out. I could care less if she jumps on people when they come to our house, so long as she runs when I say “run” and stops when I say “stop”.
Sounds like you’re going to have a great and focused January!

I’m working on going back to strength training 3x/week and doing a daily de-stress as well! :] Best of luck to you on your goals!
I commend you for setting so many awesome goals for January – I would probably just want to play with Moose all day. He’s so cute!

I’m trying to hold myself far more accountable by setting goals with actual numbers. For instance, I intend to lower my BMI by between 10 to 12%. Lose those last 20lbs of fat, and add on 35% more lean muscle mass. Here’s to us both 🙂
