Ignite your workout with Skoop Ignite Beet Blend. This organic pre-workout blend will get your body ready for optimal performance, aka #BeetMode!

You all know I like to try new products. Even when I find a product I love, I’ll never say no to trying something new. Variety is the spice of life, right?
As a morning workouter (check out my tips for how to get out the door quickly in the morning), I need a little boost before I can go all out and work up a good sweat. I’m a fan of Vega’s Pre-Workout Energizer (<– affiliate link), but when Skoop reached out to me about trying Ignite, their Superfood Endurance Beet Blend, I thought – why the heck not?
I’m careful about pre-workouts. I don’t want anything that will make me feel like I just downed a bunch of chemicals, that will give me the jitters or that will make me crash later. I once tried N.O. Xplode and felt like my heart was going to N.O Xplode right outta my chest. No good.
While I haven’t tried Ignite, I am familiar with Skoop products and was fairly sure I’d be happy with the ingredient list, but before I agreed to try it, I checked out nutrition label. Fortunately, Ignite is made with good-for-you organic, vegan, non-GMO, gluten free and caffeine free ingredients you can pronounce and is totally jitter free. Consensus: Let’s beet it!
Why the pun? Well, young grasshopper, Ignite’s main ingredient is beets. Why beets? Apparently they have naturally occurring nitrates that cause your veins to dilate, which means more oxygen rich blood can reach your muscles faster. This helps reduce recovery times DURING your workout. I’m not talking post-workout recovery – more like rest time during speed intervals or CrossFit EMOM workouts (find out what the heck that means here).
Pair the beets with the other ingredients in this powdered blend (organic pomegranate, organic agave, organic stevia, and D-Ribose) and you’ve got yourself one antioxidant rich pre-workout drink.
All you have to do is mix a scoop… er… Skoop… of Ignite with 8-12oz of water, shake it up until smooth and down it 30 minutes before a workout.
I’ve tested out both flavors (Sweet Beet and Berry Beet) before runs and WODs. Like every energizing product I’ve tried, the taste takes a little getting used to. I like beets, but I’ve never had straight up beet juice, which is pretty much what this tastes like. After a few guzzles, however, I think I like it! It definitely tastes more natural than other products, even my beloved Vega.
My new TomTom Spark watch (stay tuned for that review on Wednesday) tells me that my recovery between intervals is great, so it must be working, but if you’re curious, try it for yourself! You can shop here, or if you’re feeling lucky you can ENTER THE GIVEAWAY below. That’s right, Skoop is going give one of you 2 tubs of Ignite Superfood Endurance Beet Blend (1 in each flavor!). Simply cross you fingers and enter below.

I made a fantastic smoothie with this, spilled it everywhere. Luckily onto my photo posterboard but have you ever tried to contain a smoothie on posterboard before? It is like herding cats.

I’ve never worked out with beets, but I did try a beet juice and it was a little too beet-y for me! This does look great though and I’d be curious to try it!

Every pre-workout supplement I’ve tried has always been loaded with caffeine and I’m really nervous about that now. Would love to find something that works without the caffeine overload. I’ve tried the Skoop protein before and it was pretty good, but have been really curious about this stuff!

I’m with you. I need an energizer but nothing with caffeine overload. This is perfect.
I still haven’t tried skoop yet but love the beets in there. Thanks for linking up today!

I have never used beets to work out! This looks fabulous… love the nutrition profile and that that there is no caffeine! I hate pre-workouts that make me jittery. Cannot use them.

Yum! I’ve been wanting to try Skoop for awhile now and I LOVE beets. I’ve made a few smoothies with fresh beets, and I know what you mean about getting used to the flavor. Hope I win so I can try out, what seems to be, a great product! 🙂

I haven’t noticed any red pee haha
I am a HUGE Skoop fan already so I am dying to try this. I’ve never had beet juice before so I’m a bit nervous about the taste, but definitely willing to give it a shot!

Beet juice makes me nervous, but I do love beets. I eat a full breakfast most days before workout because I don’t workout until about 9:30. If I workout earlier then I don’t eat at all.
Hollie recently posted…Stop the Food Shaming
If you love beets you might like it! Though a full breakfast is a great way to go if you have the time.
I was all onboard with trying it until you mentioned it tastes like beet juice. Nope, not going there. Sounds like a great product if you like (or even can tolerate) the taste of beets.

I tried to eat a lot of beets during my marathon training- I just read they were good for blood flow and inflamation, but I can’t say I ever timed it to have them right before a workout. I love beets so I think I would like this~

hmmm I don’t think so!
I’ve never tried a beet smoothie before but sounds wonderful as I love beets!
I have never worked out with beets!
I have never worked out with beets as of yet.
I have drank beet kvass before a workout.
I haven’t, but it does sound interesting. I would love to try it.
I didn’t know they had powder superfood. I need to see what other superfoods they have. I usually use spinach in my smoothies.
Ya know I have not actually tried beet powder like this before. I have put a beet in my protein shake though! With chocolate, strawberries, and a banana. Pretty tasty. And the one time I tried pre-workout I freaked the eff out because I didn’t realize it was going to make me itchy. I thought I was having a severe allergic reaction and I hated it! So I would be super interested in trying this stuff out.
Ashley @ Fit Mitten Kitchen recently posted…Whole Wheat Pumpkin Donuts [with chocolate glaze]
Ugh yes – the itchiness!! You don’t get any of that with this stuff :).
I’ve never used them for working out, but I do love eating beets!
Very Interesting! So no caffeine? I might have to give it a shot because I can’t have even a little bit of caffeine anymore which means I can’t do the Energizer.
Those lovely little beets!
Hope you got the new protein that I sent your way!
🙂
