I mentioned in this post that I was giving myself a new fitness challenge for the month of October. I’m happy to say that so far, I’ve stuck to it!
No matter what I did, I couldn’t find the motivation to get up and work out in the morning, so I gave myself a goal. If I stuck to my workout plan and ate well for the week, I could get a treat at the end. So, I made it my mission to stick to this workout plan:
I woke up every morning and barely even had the pillow vs. gym argument with myself. Monday, I fulfilled my goal by taking a CXWorx ab class at my gym and doing a full body weight workout afterwards. On Tuesday, I went for a 4 mile run outside and Wednesday was spin class. On Thursday, I did this Jillian Michaels Yoga DVD. The base moves are yoga, but you add in dynamic movement and repetitions to get your heart going as well. I ALWAYS feel it afterwards. Whew. Friday was a longer run, yesterday was a rest day, and after I post this, I’m going to do a relaxing yoga DVD.
I found that planning ahead really helped. I could mentally prepare myself each day for the workouts that were to come, and since I stuck to my goals this week, I treated myself to this:
Pumpkin Chai Latte and a dairy-free chocolate chip cookie from Argo. Yum!
On another challenge note, I’ve been sticking to The Lean Green Bean’s October challenge. Here are some updates:
Day 3: Leave an operation beautiful note. – I left this guy in the PATH station:
Day 4: Do as many burpees as you can in 1 minute. – Burpees and I don’t get along, but I did 11. The result? Wiped out:
Day 5: Try a new vegetable. – I tried radish sprouts!
Day 7: Go makeup free today. – Here I am:
I’m going to keep up with The Lean Green Bean’s challenge as well as follow the same workout plan this week. If I do, what should I get? Maybe a treat from my favorite food truck or maybe some Rita’s? What do you think?
