I’m filled with exciting news this week! On top of the awesome cookbook that I’ve contributed to, I’m also now a Running On The Wall Athlete! That means every month, I’ll be running a new virtual race!
What is a virtual race? You can learn all about ’em here, but Running On The Wall races are especially awesome because you actually get race swag! Check out my first virtual race packet:
The Never Ever Give Up Virtual 10K race packet came with a drawstring bag, a cute tank, a bib (of course!), a shoe charm, two temporary tattoos and a medal! How awesome is that?
I love the theme of this virtual race. I was having a pretty tough day on Sunday, and this run was just what I needed. I put on my tank, wove the shoe string into my sneaks, put on a tattoo and headed out the door on Sunday afternoon for 6.2 glorious miles through Brooklyn. My own course. My own time. It took me a while to push my bad day aside and get into the run, but I just kept chanting, “Never ever give up!” to myself. By the end, I was in a better mood and I felt strong and proud for not letting life be an excuse to phone in the run.
I got back home and took the obligatory post-race selfie with my new medal. Bling bling.
Check out more of Running On The Wall’s virtual races here. They have a variety of themes and distances and cute race packets all for around $30 a race!
