In the craziness that has been life these past few days, I realized I forgot to share the surprise Valentine’s Day dessert I made! Well, I won’t make you wait any longer.
Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies!!
I’ll give you a moment to ogle these beauts and let your mouth hang open.
I know this blog is about staying fit, and most of my recipes are healthy, but I’m a firm believer that you should never deprive yourself of something – especially these cookies! Every now and then you need an indulgent sweet to keep you on track, and a holiday is definitely one of those times.
The cookies were the perfect VDay treats because of their red color and oh-so-sweet nature, but they’d also be good on The Fourth of July, Christmas, or any other time you please!
Not only were these a cinch to make, but they also came out with a perfect crunch on the outside and a soft, gooey-ness on the inside. My boyfriend and I may or may not have eaten about a dozen in one sitting (so much for bringing leftovers to the office!). Needless to say, they’re a bit dangerous – but anything in the name of love!
As much as I would like to take credit for this recipe, I cannot. The recipe is from Two Peas and Their Pod. Maria is a cookie pro! She has so many great recipes – both savory and sweet. Check out her blog, and make these cookies – just be prepared to eat the whole batch!
Do you have any holiday-specific desserts that you like to indulge in even when it’s not the holiday?

These cookies look awesome. My FAVORITE cookies at Panera are the Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies – it would be nice to make my own at home (also dangerous haha)
VERY dangerous! but they’d be great to make for an occasion so you aren’t tempted to eat them all 🙂
