Treat your muscles after a tough sweat session with this rich & chocolatey post-workout recovery pudding! The secret ingredient will give your muscles everything they need to recovery quickly, so you can get back at it sooner and better.
This post is sponsored by Vega.
I tend to workout first thing in the morning, so the first time I eat for the day is after my workout. I try to get in the right amount of carbs and protein to avoid as much soreness as possible, allow my muscles to recovery right and get back at it the next day.
I always look forward to my post workout fuel, and lately I’ve been lovely something a little sweet to compliment my sweat. My favorite thing after a tough sweat session? Currently it’s this Rich & Chocolatey Post-Workout Recovery Pudding, which is perfect because it’s National Chocolate Pudding Day!
A little cup of this stuff is such a delight after a killer workout. Plus it’s vegan, soy free and gluten free, so not only do my tastebuds love it, but my tummy does, too!
The key ingredient is Vega’s Clean Protein. One scoop of this stuff has 25 grams of complete, premium, plant-based protein blend made from pea, hemp, alfalfa, and pumpkin. It also contains 4g of BCAAs and 4g of Glutamine, which are key for muscle repair and recovery. Oh yea, and only 1g of sugar. Bazinga!
Add in all the other wholesome ingredients, including nuts; flax; and banana, and you’ve got one killer post-workout snack.
And if you’re the type of person that likes a little boost before a workout, as well, check out Vega’s Clean Energy. It contains caffeine from black and green teas to give you the pizazz you need to crush whatever sweaty activity lays ahead and electrolytes to keep you hydrated and energized. Like all Vega products, it doesn’t have any artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners, preservatives, GMOs, dairy or soy ingredients.

I’ve been trying to gain weight this year with a focus on building muscle and this looks like a perfect muscle-building snack! Interesting idea to add the lemon too!
This will be perfect for you! The lemon is really just to help preserve freshness if you don’t eat it right away :).
I love the idea of postworkout pudding instead of a smoothie just to change things up! And I’m always a fan of Vega products.

It’s basically a richer, denser smoothie anyway 😉

I love that you have all the yummy dairy free recipes! I’m finally recovering from too much dairy on our vacation, so I’m definitely on board with this.

Well, pudding can never be wrong.
I generally don’t eat before I work out. It doesn’t always sit right in my stomach. Post workout… it varies. Sometimes peanut butter, sometimes slices of turkey, sometimes chocolate milk.

Haha agreed! I tend not to eat before working out either – don’t want anything coming back up haha
It’s been a hot minute since I’ve had chocolate pudding. This is making my mouth water! YUM!

This pudding looks amazing! I’m thinking a double batch for after the dentist tomorrow since I will be back to very soft foods only again for couple days.
I LOVE the new Clean Protein! I still like the sugar free energizer but I am so excited about the Clean Protein since it is easy for so many to get at Target and I love the profile, taste, and of course Vega. So many I know that have tried it love it and I said it is great or even a great stepping stone for those wanting to do the Sport but not sure.
Yes!! Did you end up making it? I’m so happy Vega is at Target!
Yum!!! Love the protein in this!

This article just definitely killed the stereotype about sweets not being a part of a healthy diet. I am such a sweet tooth and am very happy to know I can eat chocolates while still maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Thank you for sharing this! Awesome content!
Thanks, Ronnie! I have a big sweet tooth, so I’m always trying to make healthy sweet options. If you have any favorite sweets you’d like me to try to healthify, please let me know!
I love Vega’s Clean Energy! I know it came out a while ago but I just discovered it this year, lol

Yum… Wish I would have read this before my run tonight
I love some chocolate after workout. I don’t tend to eat it too often, especially when I’m cutting, but I always cut some loose after workout as our body needs them high IG carbohydrates!
