I am so excited to say that I have officially signed up for my first marathon ever! One of my New Year’s Resolutions was to sign up and train for the Walt Disney World Marathon, and step one is complete!
I am both nervous and excited to start training for this event. I have no doubts that it is going to be extremely difficult, but I can only image how great it is going to feel running through all those amazing parks and seeing Mickey Mouse at the finish line!
I’ll be creating a training plan soon, so I’ll keep you all posted on that. Right now, I’m trying to run at least 10 miles a week, to stay in shape for the Tough Mudder. More serious training will probably start toward the end of the summer.
Training is going to be tough. It’s going to require a lot of determination, motivation, and mental focus. To constantly remind myself not to give up, I bought myself a little present.
I’ve been eyeing these running rings Etsy for a while now. After finally getting up the courage to sign up for the marathon, I decided to treat myself. I got one that says “focus” – the part of this blog and of staying healthy and fit that I probably struggle with the most. Now, when I’m out for a long run and I just want to quit, I can look down and remind myself to stay focused and keep going. I bought the ring about half a size big because when the body heats up, the fingers expand. I don’t want the ring to get too tight on my fingers when I’m working up a sweat!
