I’m currently in Barcelona with my new husband (WHAT?! So weird.), but before I left, Annmarie and I were able to squeeze in another episode of Runners Who Wine. Despite a mid-episode dog attack (spoiler alert), this is one of my favorite episodes yet.
At one point or another, every runner deals with a hard run. Sometimes your legs feel like led. Sometimes you hit a mental wall and just. Want. To. Quit.
When you hit that wall, what do you do? Assuming injury isn’t involved, do you just throw in the towel, or do you power through?
Part of being a runner is pushing yourself, whether it’s to go faster or go further. How do we do it? A lot of times, it comes down to creating a mantra.
A mantra is defined as “an instrument for thinking.” When it comes to running, finding a few key words or even an image that help you think differently can make all the difference. In this episode, Annmarie and I will dive into what makes a good mantra, how mantras work and how you can create your own.
