So What’s Next?
So. I ran a marathon. Did you know that? Yep. I’m a marathoner, people. Pretty awesome. I know. Sorry, you’ll have to deal with my bragging for a bit ;-P.
Anyway, now that I’m in with the 26.2 crowd, what’s next?
Keep running of course!
I don’t have any full marathon plans (at least not yet), but I do have a half in the works!
That’s right, my next big race will be the Nike Women’s Half Marathon in DC in April. I’m running on a team with some other Sweat Pink ladies.
This will be my second half, so my goal is to meet or beat my first half time of 2:02. Can I do it? I hope so! I’m currently looking for a training plan with some speed work, so I can try to get a little faster. I’ll probably start training in mid-late February. Meanwhile, I’ll keep up with running (just not at training-level intensity) and probably get back into yoga.
Do you have any good half training plans that incorporate speed work? What have you done to try to achieve a new PR?

Woo hoo! Congrats on being a marathoner!
I’m still bad about incorporating speedwork, but the only thing that gets me out to the track is having a running group. Knowing they’ll be out there and that they’ll be expecting me keeps me accountable.

A running group sounds great! I’ve been meaning to look into one.
