It’s time to start thinking about fall fashion! To help you get started, check out some of the best green dresses to take you from summer to fall.
As much as I hate to admit it, August means summer is almost over. We’ll have a few more weeks of heat and before we know it, pumpkin and boots and all things fall will be upon us. I’m not quite ready for summer to be over. I want to live it up before I have to layer on. Tights, sweaters, scarves – I just want to be free in a simple dress!
Is there anything better to wear in the summer than a dress? Let’s be honest, I wear dresses year ‘round, but in the summer – ahhh so good. Air flowage. Free legs. Perfection. That said, it is time to start thinking about my fall wardrobe.
Dresses are perfect for transitioning between the seasons. They can be worn alone or with layers as suggested above. I love long dresses, short dresses, tight dresses, flowy dresses – I love me all the dresses!
I’d wear every dress ever if I could pull them all off, but as a fair-skinned redhead with freckles, there are certain colors that just don’t work for me. However, for every unflattering color, there is a flattering one, and green is one of them.
So in the name of Fit & Fashionable Friday, I bring you the best green dresses! All of these dresses are fab on their own, but I already have ideas a brewing for how they can be layered and transitioned to great fall pieces. Let’s take a look:
Free People Early Bird Tunic (top left)
I might have to buy this dress. It’s so pretty! The flared shape will be very flattering, the neckline is sexy and it just looks so darn comfortable. It’s perfect for summer, but I could also see it with some tall boots and a sweater for the fall. In love.
Anthropology South Shore Dress (top right)
Oh, Anthropology, why must you tempt my wallet so? This dress looks so light and breezy. It would be perfect for the office or a day at the park. Once it starts to get chilly, I could see it with tights and a leather jacket to give it a classy yet edgy vibe.
H&M Open-Shoulder Dress (bottom left)
This is the perfect dress for a date night, but at the same time, it could be dressed down a bit for work or even brunch! It’s fitted nature and cutouts on the shoulders give it sexy vibes with a modern twist, but it also looks comfortable! Come fall, throw on some ankle boots, a hat and a scarf and you’ll be cool-weather ready!
Nordstrom Rack Floral Lace Sleeve Crepe Dress (bottom right)
Here’s another one that could be dressed up or down. This could be office-appropriate or be slightly more adorned for a fall wedding. The slightly longer sleeve already makes it a great transition-to-fall piece, but tights and some cute flats would also help take this piece go well with a pumpkin spice latte.
I’m in no hurry for Fall to arrive, but it never hurts to start thinking about fall fashion, right? Now it’s time to go shopping, but first, the link up!

Isn’t it? They always have the best stuff.
What cute dresses! So at the TV station I stood in front of a green chroma key wall, so I could not wear anything green for a HUGE chunk of my life so I never bought it. I guess it just stuck because I still don’t have green in my closet. The closets I have is a pretty blue-green jacket.
Anyways, these dresses are super cute and would be a great addition to any closet!
