Want to nourish your body, beat cravings and achieve all those New Year’s resolutions? Check out The BodyBoss Superfood Nutrition Guide Review to see if this 12-Week Nutrition Program and its partnering Ultimate Body Fitness Guide can get you there!
This post is sponsored by BodyBoss, but all opinions are my own.
How many of you have goals of being healthier in the new year? I don’t just mean who is going on a diet (because I don’t believe in diets), I mean who wants to eat better, feel better, maybe achieve a new fitness goal? I know I do! I’m always looking for new and better ways to nourish my body and to achieve new levels of fitness. I have two big healthy-living goals for 2018: get a PR at my next half marathon and be in great shape for my wedding in May.
Those goals aren’t going to happen if I keep doing the same things I’ve been doing. I need to push myself a little harder and mix things up, so when BodyBoss reached out to me to review their new Superfood Nutrition Guide, I was all about it!
You may remember me talking about BodyBoss a few months ago, I tried their Fitness Guide and fell in love with their HIIT-style workouts. In fact, I’ve been incorporating BodyBoss workouts into my routine for the past few months! They’re perfect for doing in my new at-home gym.
A quick recap on what the fitness guide is all about:
It’s a highly structured, 12-week program of fun and challenging high intensity workouts designed for busy women to achieve optimal results in the shortest amount of time.
Workouts are done circuit style, meaning you rotate through a variety of exercises within a specific time frame and are then given a rest break. The training program consists of four cycles of three weeks (increasing intensity as you go), designed to help you reach optimal performance, power, fitness and fat burning. The best part? You can do the workouts almost anywhere! All you need is a little bit of space and 24 minutes.
Of course, a great fitness program is nothing without it’s nutritionally sound counterpart, which is where the BodyBoss Superfood Nutrition Guide comes into play.
WHAT IS THE BODYBOSS SUPERFOOD NUTRITION GUIDE?
It’s a 12-week, structured nutrition program that helps you nourish your body, beat cravings and achieve real results. Each day includes three meals and two snacks that combine nutrient-dense superfoods, lean protein, healthy fats and wholesome carbs.
HOW DOES THE SUPERFOOD NUTRITION GUIDE WORK?
Each week, you’re given a shopping list that will give you everything you need for a full week (including weekends!) of healthy eating. The guide tells you what to prep ahead of time and what you can assemble right before each meal.
Each day is laid out for you. It guides you on what to eat for breakfast, for a mid-morning snack, for lunch, for an afternoon snack, and for dinner. It really does all the thinking for you. There are over 150 satisfying and energizing recipes throughout the guide. I’ve tried two weeks’ worth of recipes and have to say, they’re all delicious and super filling.
Most recipes make more than one serving, so you can enjoy them all week long and the guide offers up so much variety! You really won’t get bored of a meal. However, in the off chance that you do, there’s a BONUS smoothie and dessert recipe guide that includes over 20 Power-up smoothies you can swap for any meal.
There are also approved cheat meal suggestions. These “cheat meals” are still healthy and tasty but give you a little more wiggle room when you want it.
The guide is available online (for your computer, phone or tablet) and as a physical book (free delivery WORLDWIDE!).
WHAT’S THE GOAL?
The goal of the guide is to help you both achieve the results you want and help teach you how foods can satisfy, fuel and heal the body. BodyBoss wants to help you establish smart exercise and eating habits for a long and healthy life!
The guide comes with a worksheet for easy goal setting (weight loss and body goals) and helps you track your progress along the way. Combine the Superfood Nutrition Guide with the Fitness Guide for the ultimate combo!

MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE SUPERFOOD NUTRITION GUIDE
I’ve been following this plan for about two weeks and am really enjoying it. All the recipes I’ve tried have been delicious, and they don’t leave me the least bit hungry. I think my favorite part so far is the variety! It’s really inspired me to mix up my meals. In the past, I would have the same thing for breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner all week long. This guide has showed me how easy it is to prep meals in bulk but still switch it up each day. Some of my favorite meals so far have been the Turkey and Pesto Lean Panini and the Berry Bliss Parfait!
I will say, the meal-prep part of the guide is not as simple as it could be. The guide tells you which meals to prep, but you have to go to each individual recipe to read the instructions and figure out your meal-prep plan of attack. I think it’d be much easier if there was one page that listed out all the prep instructions, so that you don’t have to flip back and forth to all the recipes. That said, each individual meal is simple to make (it’s just the multitasking that makes it a little tricky if you’re trying to do all the prep all at once), and once the meals are prepped, day of assembly is a piece of cake.
I also wish the guide offered allergy-friendly swaps. I am familiar enough with my food allergies that I know when and where to make swaps, but a lot of newbies to the healthy-eating world may not be. For instance, there is quite a bit of dairy throughout the recipes. I found some low-lactose Greek yogurt and cheeses that I can easily digest with the help of a lactase-enzyme supplement, but anyone who is complete dairy-free may struggle to make all the swaps.
THE PROS
- Easy-to-follow guide that does the thinking for you
- Delicious, filling recipes
- Easy to make meal and snack
- Offers up variety
- Helps teach you healthier habits
- Get the best of both world when combined with the Ultimate Body Fitness Guide
THE CONS
- Meal prep guide could be more intuitive
- Wish it offered allergy-friendly swaps
Overall, I think this guide is a great way to make the fitness program that much more effective, and even if I don’t end up following the entire 12 weeks plan to a t, I will absolutely be looking to this guide for healthy, wholesome recipes.

I saw this workout & nutrition plan mentioned somewhere else, and was curious about people’s experiences with it! It sounds like it could be a really great program for people that like the structure of a meal plan!
Looks like useful guide. Love that you discussed pros and cons.
I have seen this before I think last time you mentioned it. I like the combo of the fitness and nutrition plans together. Lots of people need the structure of a full plan. Thanks for the review

Hey, whatever it takes to get us to eat better is a good thing! I will say that I have really improved my diet since my diagnosis with RA and I do feel better.
Is there room for cheating on this plan?

This sounds like a great program! I haven’t considered any nutritional programs but might look into it next year at some point.
I have never followed any kind of meal plan or program. I’m more of a spontaneous “creative” types….but that does leave me scratching my head now and then at 5:30PM ….

Sounds like a great plan!! I love how it’s centered around eating whole, unprocessed foods. I like to plan my own meals, however. I feel restricted when I feel like I have to eat a specific meal.

This looks awesome! I love how fun the guides are and how they simplify healthy diets + working out!
Sounds like a great, all inclusive program. Great for the new year!
Interesting. I find that I do well with a structured strength training program, so I can dive right in and get it done intstead of debating … or procrastinating.

How many servings does each recipe make? If I follow the recipe for one of the dinners, would there be enough to feed me and my husband or would I have to double it?
Each recipe lists how many servings they make. The dinners usually make 2-4 servings, but they vary. If you are sticking with the plan, you’d have to double the recipe to make sure you’d have enough for all your other meals :).
I got this nutrition guide and was so excited! The recipes are really yummy but they are completely inconsistent. I made the chili and it made enough to feed 4 people! Even though the serving amount was only 2. I have a culinary degree and follow all the recipes to a t. Other recipes yield such a little amount that it makes you think, are you sure this is just 2 servings? I spent 3+ hours meal prepping for the week. That was exhausting, but it must be done. I wish the book clarified some things more… but overall it’s pretty good so far. Let’s see how the remaining weeks go!
Hi Alina – I completely agree! I actually gave them pretty close to this exact feedback. I found the meal prep a little tricky as I had to keep flipping to all the different recipes and trying to figure out the best way to multitask and get it all done efficiently. I wish there was a page that laid out instructions on exactly what to prep. I found the same thing with the portion sizes for week 1, as well. That said, I have been really enjoying all the recipes and it’s gotten me to really switch things up!
I thing the hardest thing for most people is taking action on a consistent basis. The more action you take, the more it become a habit – eventually replacing the will power that motivates you. I love the shopping list and recipe guides! Thanks for the share!

The guide looks interesting for sure and meals look great. As Sam said above, it comes down to habit. I know that personally because I often have fatigue since suffering from CFS, then once low on energy and brain fog then sensible healthy choices go out the window. This is why I have tried to focus on greens and getting quality and consistent sleep. Great guide and useful information, so thank you.
