Alright, now it’s time for some down and dirty tummy talk, my friends.
Are any of you probiotic users? I’ve tried probiotics in the past, but I’ve had so many tummy issues it was hard to tell if they really helped. Now that I’ve finally started to figure out what my tummy likes and doesn’t like (wheat, lactose, peanuts – OYE!) I figured I’d give probiotics another try. Enter: the Vita-Web Probiotic.
Note: I received this product for free in exchange for a review and giveaway. As always, all opinions are my own.
First of, what the heck are probiotics? Here’s what Vita-Web has to say:
There is a saying that death begins in the colon because if the environment in your colon is not healthy disease typically follows. One hundred trillion bacteria live inside you. A healthy person’s colon will be about 85% “good” bacteria and 15% bad. The problem is the Standard American Diet (SAD), medications like antibiotics, toxins, food allergens, stress and other factors can throw that balance way off. That is where diseases like cancers, neurological disorders, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, eczema, acne, psoriasis, and chronic inflammation can start. Probiotics work by introducing good bacteria to the colon and crowding out the bad, to achieve a healthy balance.
Probiotics can be found in dairy products, mainly yogurt. At first, I was trying to get mine from Greek yogurt, but my tummy can only handle Greek yogurt in small doses. When I have a yogurt every day, I suffer from bloating and discomfort, which is what probiotics aim to diminish (damn you, lactose!). So I cut out the yogurt and started to feel better. Until I didn’t.
About a week after cutting out yogurt (and therefore my probiotic supply) I got sever tummy cramps. I’m talking had to stay home from work tummy cramping. The pain and discomfort when on for two days. I almost called the doc it was so bad, but before I rushed off to the gastro, I decided to give the Vita-Web Probiotic a go. I took one with my dinner and the next day, I felt light-years better! I took it again the next night and woke up feeling 100% again.
Coincidence? It could be, but I’m a believer! I will definitely be working this Probiotic into my daily routine. I’ve felt ALL of these benefits:
- Lose weight/bloat (I haven’t had ANY bloating since taking this)
- Naturally improve digestion and maintain digestive balance (it beat off that tummy pain – whatever it was!)
- Sleep better (I’ve been sleeping SO much better since taking this)

I love your new newsletter feature! How did you combine it with the wordpress jetpack plugin on your side bar(at least, I think that’s what you use?) I think it’s lovely.

Thanks, Linda! Do you mean the sign up on the bottom of each post? It’s a plugin called “Optin Forms” that I combined with MailChimp. Working on building up my newsletter to send exclusives out to email subscribers in the future 🙂
I take a probiotic as I think it benefits my digestion and immune system too.
I drank a drink called KeVita which contains probiotics. I noticed a difference within a few days. It has great benefits for digestion.
Yes I use probioitics and finding the right one is so important! it really helps!
I have not used probiotics but I am interested in trying them!
i have been using probiotics for years and think they help a ton with stomach issues!
I dont take them regularly but have in the past and would like to start again
I have never used probiotics but it is something that I’ve been very interested in. I’ve always had tummy troubles so I’ve always wondered if something like this would help.
I too have taken pro biotics in the past, they worked until they didn’t. Since my diagnosis and elimination of certain foods/triggers I have yet to start taking one again, maybe I just don’t want any more meds in my regime, but your review has got me thinking!
