Another week, another dose of healthy eats for you all to peruse!
Juices & Smoothies
I was shooting for a commercial this week at work, and the studio we were at made fresh juices! I can’t remember all the ingredients, but I know the first one had beets and carrots somewhere in the mix and the second included kale, spinach, celery, and apple among other things.
Two of the days, I had time to whip up smoothies for breakfast before heading out.
Banilla Smoothie (1 1/4 cup almond milk, 1 scoop vanilla Plant Fusion protein powder, 1 frozen banana)
Chocolate Covered Strawberry Smoothie (recipe here)
And then one morning I felt like a little crunch, so instead of a juice or a smoothie, I had some GoLean Crunch Cereal with sliced banana.
Gone Fishy
I had a good amount of fish dishes this week:
Top: Grilled tuna with mango salsa, side of roasted pepper and boy choy, and some tater tots from the catering we had on set.
Bottom Left: Ahi Tuna salad (which is really a Tuna Nicoise Salad) from The Smith.
Bottom Right: Seared fluke in a coconut milk broth with roasted veggies (from my boyfriend’s birthday dinner at Old Field’s)
Birthday Treats
As I mentioned above, this weekend was my boyfriend’s birthday! His favorite dessert is sugar cookies and one of his favorite things to eat is pigs-in-a-blanket. So I made him a “cake” of sugar cookies and a whole platter of pigs with candles for him to make a wish. I couldn’t eat the pigs-in-a-blanket, so I made my own veggie-dogs-in-blankets (bottom right)! It was my first time every having vegetarian hot dogs. They definitely don’t taste the same, but they weren’t bad.
Did you try anything new this week? Give me a shout and I’ll try it out for my next WIAW!
